The Man in the Moon is Smiling Tonight
The man in the moon is smiling tonight
As he looks down from his great height,
While I walk with my dog on this beauteous night,
I see the man in the moon is smiling tonight.
His lips are parted, cheeks dimpled with grin
Small, pointed nose, a preposterous chin.
The stars that abound twinkle with delight
Because the man in the moon is smiling tonight.
Does he know something that I don't?
Are good things coming to our planet, home?
I only know what I have seen.
Something about him seemed to gleam,
As he hung there dangling, like on a string.
The man in the moon is smiling tonight.
